Re: COP26, UN climate conference
"the share of renewables in the energy mix is rapidly rising"...

...but not where it is being used to create the number of wind turbines and solar panels needed.

Borneo could go 100% renewable but as it has a minimal industrial footprint it makes fuck-all difference to greenhouse gas production.

Re: COP26, UN climate conference
How's California getting on with its green energy agenda Pickle??

California has by far the most solar panels of any state in the US, and yet they still have to rely on fossil fuels to get by.

Why is that?

Re: COP26, UN climate conference
WE are already struggling to produce energy, due to the lack of WIND.

Re: COP26, UN climate conference
That's right - my links contain biased information while your fossil fuel lobby tells us what Jesus wants us to know.

Please - the share of renewables in the energy mix is rapidly rising and the impact on the interests you represent has got them shitting their pants. And of course it's only going to get tougher for these mass polluters.

goose 11:59 Fri Nov 19
Re: COP26, UN climate conference
Pickle wants to go and burn a huge amount more fossil fuel to make some solar panels that don’t provide enough energy anyway.

He actually wants to accelerate climate change.

My children's children will be singing my praises for making their trip to the beach quite a bit shorter.

And a host of other things - like not needing to heat their homes for at least half the year..

They'll be very warm according to you, Thickle.

Re: COP26, UN climate conference
Pickled, these comments surrounding global temperatures are al PROJECTIONS, you realise this right?

Science, has quite often been completely wrong - We've seen this most recently when scientists suggested there would be over 100k covid infections a day, we're no where near that.

The fact people take scientists (who are paid to say whatever they are told to) so literally and don't believe they can't be wrong is utterly foolish.

goose 11:51 Fri Nov 19
Re: COP26, UN climate conference
Watch when the western world ties itself into 'green energy' and walks away from fossil fuels.
In about ten years they'll realise that they aren't producing enough energy to meet demands and its hugely expensive.

Who do you think will control the supply lines to the extra energy they need??

and who didnt attend COCK26??

Hammer and Pickle 11:45 Fri Nov 19
Re: COP26, UN climate conference
Well that's you ruling yourself out of the conversation the sensible people are having about the 2.4C rise in global temperature by 2100.

I hope your children's children will get the chance to talk about you warmly.

goose 11:43 Fri Nov 19
Re: COP26, UN climate conference
You've posted up a link from a company which flogs planet friendly nonsense............... completely not biased anyway.

anyways - currently 2% of global energy comes from solar panels. how many solar panels do you think the planet needs to hit net zero by 2050?

short term how much more fossil fuels do you want to burn to get there??
a) a shit tonne
or
b) a fuck tonne

lets not even get started on how little energy a solar panel actually creates.............

Re: COP26, UN climate conference
Pickled, the only argument is to reduce air pollution, so we all have cleaner air to breath.

Other than that, to suggest this will all help "save the planet" is utter, nonsense believed by morons.

Hammer and Pickle 11:34 Fri Nov 19
Re: COP26, UN climate conference
When you are ready to stop trying to persuade yourself there is no point of shifting to renewables because of, well, you're a bit of an ignorant, selfish cunt, how about you acquaint yourself with the facts about how much carbon solar power generation actually produces (net)?

I've said humans can never impact mother nature.

BTW, I'm absolutely loving the warm temps at the moment.

Re: COP26, UN climate conference
THE PLANET will be just fine, whatever arrogant "top of the tree" humans do.

They could set off every atom bomb ever made all at the same time and the planet won't even notice - life will continue and re-evolve adapted to the new environment.

Same with fossil fuel: we could burn it all at once and THE PLANET will just shrug it off as an itch.

As a species we are not as powerful and influential as some clearly need us to be.

I just want to reiterate that PICKLED wants zero carbon in the atmosphere.

He stupidly forgot that HUMANS breath out CO2.

Hammer and Pickle 11:13 Fri Nov 19

Oh do piss off - you're the greasy fuckwit looking for excuses to keep burning fossil fuels and fucking up the planet.

Mike Oxsaw 11:00 Fri Nov 19
Re: COP26, UN climate conference
Pickled's word of the moment seems to be "If".

Such a small word he clearly hopes nobody will notice it's use when up against all the bigger, grown-up words only an educated person would use and understand.

How about "The additional fossil fuel needed to create enough solar panels to start reducing the release of greenhouse gasses released into the atmosphere is so great that it will tip the climate into crisis decades before those panels come on line."

goose 9:54 Fri Nov 19
Re: COP26, UN climate conference
If you had any grasp of the subject you’d realise that those carbon neutral forecasts are completely unrealistic and unobtainable.

There’s no fool like an old (greasy haired, cat weasel looking) fool.
